Notice of Public Hearing - McKenzie Zoning

Notice is hereby given of a public hearing which will be held before the McKenzie Board of Mayor and Aldermen on the proposed adoption of a revised Municipal Zoning Ordinance. Said hearing will be held pursuant to the provisions of Sections 13-7-203 and 13-4-302, Tennessee Code Annotated, during the September 11, 2025 meeting of the McKenzie Board of Mayor and Aldermen at 6 p.m. The hearing will be held at McKenzie City Hall and all interested parties are invited to appear and be heard in objection or in favor of the adoption, thereof. The documents proposed for adoption are available for public examination at McKenzie City Hall during normal business hours. Further pursuant to Tennessee Code Annotated, 13-7-203, the following zoning caption summarizes the revisions being made to Zoning Ordinance proposed for adoption by the McKenzie Board of Mayor and Aldermen: Page numbers were re-formatted (to a continuous numbering system) and updated in the table of contents. The sign ordinance was condensed by removing all charts (which contained wording duplicitous to the actual text of the provisions) (Chapter 4 - General Provisions). Added RV/Travel Trailer Park clarification (Chapter 4 - General Provisions). Condensed and simplified landscaping regulations (Chapter 4 - General Provisions). Added recently adopted fencing requirements (Chapter 4 - General Provisions). Added site plan requirements for industrial zoning districts (Chapter 9 – Provisions Governing Industrial Districts).
