The City of McKenzie invites bids/proposals for constructing a Pickle Ball complex at the City Park 570 Como. The City of McKenzie is the owner of the property. Project Summary: The area is the space that was previously the city tennis courts. The space for Pickle Ball is approximately 120’ x 120’. Construction will include the following: • Removal of edge curbing on existing Tennis Court. • Grade existing material and proof roll existing surface. • Install sand to amend existing grade as necessary. 6 loads of material are included. • Form ~ 120’ x 120’ pickleball court. The court is to be 4” thick with wire mesh reinforcing. Edges to be 8” turndown with 1 run of #4 rebar continuous. • Installation of plastic vapor barrier. • Concrete to be 3500 psi limestone with saw cut joints. • Installation of 6’ black vinyl coated fence around perimeter with 4 walk gates. • Installation of 4’ black vinyl coated fence in the center of court for separation of sides. • Installation of 8 pickleball nets and post sets. • Installation of acrylic surfacing in 2 colors. • Installation of acrylic lines to designate 8 pickleball courts. Submission Requirements: Each bidding contractor is required to complete the bid (form) for City and provide their proposed bid contract value. Each bidding contractor is required to submit a schedule of values for their proposed base bid contract value by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31. The schedule of values document shall also include a list of bidding contractor’s, major subcontractors with sub-contract values. Each bidding contractor is required to submit a proposed construction schedule, as noted in project schedule section above. Submission Procedure: Sealed bids due by Wednesday, August 31, 2022, 4 p.m. at City of McKenzie 2470 Cedar St., McKenzie, TN 38201. Bids will be opened at 4:30 p.m. at McKenzie City Hall. Winning bidder will be notified by Friday, September 2, 2022. Bids/proposals will be evaluated on their overall content of value to the project and may not necessarily be chosen based solely upon cost.
