A927/37-1 The Carroll County Election Commission shall meet Tuesday, September 13, 2022, 6 p.m. in the Election Offi ce, 625 High St, Ste 113, Huntingdon, 38344, for the purpose of continuing preparation for the November 8, 2022 State General and Municipal Elections. MEETING NOTICE SEPTEMBER 13, 2022, 6 P.M. CARROLL COUNTY ELECTION COMMISSION MEETING LEGAL NOTICE The offices to be elected November 8, 2022, include STATE GENERAL ELECTION: United States Congressional House of Representatives, District 8 (two-year term); Governor (four-year term); Tennessee House of Representatives, District 76 (two-year term); Tennessee House of Representatives, District 79 (two- year term). MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS: Atwood --- one mayor and two alderman (four-year term); Bruceton --- one mayor and two alderman (four-year term); Hollow Rock --- one mayor and three alderman (four-year term) and one alderman (two-year unexpired term); Huntingdon – three council members (four-year term) and one council member (two-year unexpired term); McKenzie --- one mayor and three councilpersons at large (four-year term) and one councilperson at large (two-year unexpired term); McLemoresville --- one mayor and five alderman (four-year term); and, Trezevant --- three alderman (top two vote-getters take a four-year term and the third most vote-getter takes a two-year term). The qualifying deadline to run for office was August 18, 2022, at NOON. The withdrawal deadline was August 25, 2022, at NOON. Write-In Candidacy qualifying deadline is September 19, 2022, at NOON. Early Voting for the November 8, 2022 elections will be October 19 – November 3, 2022. Early Voting is only in the Election Office at 625 High St, Suite 113, Huntingdon. Voter Registration deadline is October 11, 2022. Absentee Ballot requesting can be done now until November 1, 2022.
