The City of McKenzie will be accepting applications for a laborer position for the Public Works Department. Candidate must be 18 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, high school diploma or its equivalent and pass the pre-employment drug screen. Applications will be accepted at city hall until 4 p.m. on April 2. This is a full-time position and includes benefi ts. The city has excellent benefits including health insurance, holidays and the State TCRS retirement plan. • You must be able to perform manual labor, stooping, bending, twisting and lifting heavy weight at times. • Operate a variety of power construction and maintenance equipment used in the street department including but not limited to a chainsaw, weed eater, shovel, mower, etc. • Occasionally operate heavy equipment including but not limited to tractor, brush truck or leaf truck. • Participates on emergency call out list which is in effect 24 hours a day for emergency storm removal of debris; for example street removal of fallen trees. • An ability to tolerate work in all weather and season conditions is also required.
