MSSD provides screenings and evaluations to students with disabilities that reside in our school district, including private and home-schooled students. Children with disabilities are eligible for services at the age of three. Any child suspected of having a disability, including intellectual giftedness, can be referred to the local school system. Parents may request screenings at the Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten registration on April 9 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and April 10 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Both registrations will be held at McKenzie Elementary School. Individual screenings may be conducted at a later date. Parents may call the McKenzie Board of Education, (731) 352-2246, at any time during the school year to request a screening.
