City of McKenzie Hearing Ruling - 82 Barksdale Street

Hearing was held November 28, 2022: City of McKenzie vs. Owners of property located at 82 Barksdale Street, McKenzie, Tennessee 38201, Parcel 10, Group J, of Tax Map 12M. This cause came to be heard on Monday, November 28, 2022, by the below hearing officer. This cause was initiated by the City of McKenzie alleging a violation of City Ordinance section 13-201 involving slum clearance. Present at the hearing of November 21, 2022, was Fire Chief Brian Tucker and codes consultant Jim Pillow on behalf of the City of McKenzie. Also in attendance was Codes Enforcement Assistant Jim Seaton and McKenzie Mayor Elect Ryan Griffin. The following property maintenance committee members were also in attendance: Police Chief Ryan White and Codes Enforcement Officer Phillip Morrissett. No one appeared on behalf of the property owners Jeffrey L. Haynes and Joshua L. Haynes. The hearing officer finds that all interested parties were properly notified before said hearing pursuant to proper notice as required. The hearing officer finds that the property owners have brought the property into compliance by demolishing the mobile home and outbuilding. All action under the City of McKenzie slum clearance ordinance are hereby terminated.
