REQUEST FOR BIDS A1/18-2 Sealed Bids will be received by the CITY OF MCKENZIE, Tennessee, for collection and disposal of residential solid waste at the City Hall, P.O. Box 160, McKenzie, TN 38201, on or before May 20, 2019, 2 p.m., C.D.T. The work performed under this contract will be that of a professional solid waste collection and disposal service, from July 1, 2019 and through July 1, 2024. Contract will be for five years with one optional two-year renewal. The envelope containing the Bid must be sealed and plainly marked “Bid for Residential Solid Waste Collection and Disposal Service”. The sealed bids, invited by the City of McKenzie, will be received by Johnny Mercer, Public Works Director, City of McKenzie, 2470 Cedar Street., P.O. Box 160, McKenzie, TN 38201 until 2 p.m. C.D.T. (Central Time) on May 20, 2019, at which time they will be opened and publicly read aloud and a contract awarded as soon thereafter as practicable. In making its award, the City will evaluate, in addition to pricing, administrative capability, equipment on hand and condition, references, work load, disposal plan, and past performance. In short, the lowest price quoted may not win the subsequent award, as these other evaluation criteria are extremely important to the City and the City’s evaluated decision shall be final. The City reserves the right to reject any or all Bids regarding the collection and disposal of residential solid waste, to waive irregularities and/or informalities in any Bid, and to make an award in any manner, consistent with law, deemed in the best interest of the City.
