MSSD provides screenings and evaluations to students with disabilities that reside in our school district, including private and home-schooled students. Children with disabilities are eligible for services at the age of three. Any child suspected of having a disability, including intellectual giftedness, can be referred to the local school system at any time during the year. Parents may request screenings at the Pre- kindergarten/Kindergarten registration on June 9 and 16th from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Both registrations will be held at McKenzie Elementary School. Individual screenings may be conducted at a later date. Parents may call the McKenzie Board of Education, 731-352-2246, at any time during the school year to request a screening.
