All school systems in Carroll County requested the Carroll County Election Commission to call an election for their board member positions, to be held in conjunction with the County General, August 1, 2024. The Carroll County Department of Education Districts 1, 2, and 3, will elect one 4-year position per district. Hollow Rock-Bruceton Special School District will elect one 4-year position in each of the following civil districts: Civil District 16-Bruceton, Civil District 16-Hollow Rock, Civil District 17-Vale, and Civil District 18-Spanish Grove/Westport. Huntingdon Special School District will elect two at large positions for a 6-year term each. McKenzie Special School District will elect three positions at large for a 4-year term each. South Carroll Special School District will elect three positions at large for a 4-year term each. And, West Carroll Special School District will elect one 4-year position in each of the following civil districts: Old Atwood Civil District, Old County Civil District, and Old Trezevant Civil District. A school board candidate has the option to run independent or partisan. If partisan, the school board candidate will appear on the March 5, 2024 local primary ballot and, if deemed the winner of that election, will advance to the August 1, 2024 General. If running independent, the candidate will appear only on the August ballot.
