McKENZIE SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT — JANUARY 3, 2024 Sealed proposals should be submitted for the following scope of work: Mowing, weed-eating, and general landscaping (to include mulching, tree and shrubbery trimming) as necessary, all the school property currently owned by the McKenzie Special School District. All sealed proposals must be received at the McKenzie Special School District central offi ce — 114 West Bell Avenue, McKenzie, TN 38201 — by Friday, February 2, 2024, at 10 a.m., at which time the bidding will close and the proposals opened. The property consists of approximately 15 acres at McKenzie High School, approximately 14 acres at McKenzie Middle School, and approximately 9 acres at the McKenzie Elementary School, including the McKenzie Board of Education Central Office Building and adjacent properties. All bids must include the number and type of equipment that will be used. All bidders must include evidence of a minimum of $250,000 liability insurance within three (3) days of confirmation of bid award. WITH INITIAL AGREEMENT AND SATISFACTION, CONSIDERATION WILL BE GIVEN TO A THREE-YEAR CONTRACT. To determine the actual scope of work, all bidders should visit McKenzie High School — 23292 Hwy. 22, McKenzie Middle School — 80 Woodrow Ave, and McKenzie Elementary School — 165 Brooks Avenue. Bidders are required to quote their charge per mowing / weed-eating, including general landscaping consisting of maintenance of school-owned shrubbery and mulching as specifi ed. The terms of the contract will include monthly payments based on 28 mowings / weed-eating per year, and semi- annual landscaping obligations. The successful bidder will be required to visit each site on a weekly basis to determine the work needs that will be required to maintain each campus.
