The City of McKenzie is accepting resumes from interested applicants for the Ward 3 and Ward 4 Council seats. Councilperson Brian Winston is moving out of Ward 3 which he represents, and Councilperson Debbie Riley who represented Ward 4 died in October. Interested persons should submit a resume and a letter to the City Council which explains their interest in the position and how their service can benefit the City of McKenzie. Requirements for the position include: reside in the district, attend the regularly scheduled council meetings, workshops, and called meetings, complete the newly elected offi cials’ academy during the 1st year, complete 12 hours of the Water Commission Training (TN state mandate) during the 1st year, and participate in continuing education training each year. The applicants will be voted on at the January 14, 2021, City Council Meeting, and will be sworn in at the February 11, 2021 Council Meeting.
