Lakeside Senior Living Community in McKenzie was where the Inglenook Book Club held its February 12 meeting at 3 p.m., with 19 ladies in attendance. President Gail Mack called the meeting to order at 3 p.m. She thanked the hostesses Jean Hollomon and Suzanne Russell for serving delicious strawberry pretzel salad, along with chocolates and assorted beverages. The Pledge of Allegiance, Club Aim and Motto were recited by all. The February birthday ladies are Marilynn Putman and Sandi McMahen.

McKENZIE — Battalion Chief Jason Arnold has joined Tennessee’s statewide crisis response strike team, a unit formed under the Tennessee Fire Chaplains Association and the Department of Health. The team provides mental health and crisis support to first responders and the public during natural disasters and emergencies.

ATWOOD (February 10) — West Carroll High School celebrated Senior Night Monday prior to a pair of basketball contests against Clarksburg. Two senior cheerleaders and two War Eagle players were honored on the court, joined by family members.

McKENZIE (February 10) — McKenzie High School hosted Camden Monday for a pair of basketball contests. The Lady Rebels shook off a slow start and pulled off a thrilling comeback to win 44-43. A similar rally by the Rebels came up just short in a 59-58 loss.

McKENZIE (February 11) — McKenzie High School celebrated Senior Night Tuesday and earned a decisive sweep over visiting Milan. Fourteen senior players, managers and cheerleaders were honored prior to the games, joined on the court by family members.

ATWOOD (February 14) — West Carroll High School hosted McKenzie Friday for a pair of basketball contests, wrapping up the regular season for both schools. The visitors pulled away early in both games. The Lady Rebels won 51-36 in the opener, and the Rebels took the nightcap, 57-19.

ATWOOD (February 13) — West Carroll High School celebrated Homecoming Thursday and hosted Bradford for a pair of district basketball contests. The Lady War Eagles kept the game in reach but fell to the Lady Red Devils, 52-41. The Red Devils pulled away early for a 53-28 win.
