Charlie Massey, 1939 - 2025

HUNTINGDON, TENN. - Mr. Charlie Paul Massey, 85, of Huntingdon, died Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Life Care Center of Bruceton.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025, in the Chapel of Dilday-Carter Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Carroll Memorial Gardens. Brother Randy Thompson officiating.

The family will receive friends at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.

Charlie was born December 10, 1939, to the late Floyd Graden “Mutt” Massey and Lou Inez Chandler Massey. He is also preceded in death by Jeanette Massey; brothers, James Harvey Massey, Neil Stanley Massey, Franklin Delano Massey, Lee Daniel “LD” Massey and Floyd Junior Massey; sisters, Joyce Evelyn Massey Butler, Peggy Sue Massey and Cynthia Faye Massey.

Charlie was a Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church member and a 1958 graduate of Huntingdon High School. He also attended Ephesus Elementary and Cannon Elementary Schools. Charlie graduated from Southern Graphic Vocational School in Nashville, Tennessee, where he studied printing. He worked for  The Tennessee Republican newspaper in Huntingdon and The McKenzie Banner newspaper for over 51 years.

 He is survived by daughters Michelle (Steven) Lowery of Lebanon, Tennessee and Karen (Mike) Heyduck of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; son Stuart (Kim) Massey of Bells, Tennessee; sisters, Judy Massey Lowery of Camden, Tennessee and  Wanda Faye Massey Burdan of Cedar Lake, Indiana; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He will be honored by pallbearers  Craig Massey, Alex Taylor, Spencer Lowery, Avery Lowery, Josh Moore, and Will Wedding.

Dilday-Carter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 731-986-8281
