County Seeks Full-Time Emergency Management Director

From the Oct 15, 2024 e-EditionCARROLL COUNTY — The county of Carroll is seeking a full-time emergency management director. The position is vacant with last month's retirement of Janice Newman.
Thje director is responsible for administering and directing a program of comprehensive emergency and Homeland Security issues, designed to reduce the vulnerability of citizens and communities of Carroll County.
The director coordinates with local, state, and federal agencies to mitigate the adverse effects of disasters, reports to appropriate agencies, conducts on-site damage reports, and serves as a point of contact for disaster relief activities.
The position is now available. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years of age, have education and training in emergency operations and services, and must complete the required FEMA and TEMA training within 24 months of employment.
