Mrs. Lacey, 69 years old, of McKenzie, died peacefully at her home after a long illness on November 8, 2025. She was born in Lowell, Mass., on January 6, 1956, to the late Donald Harvey and Pauline Boutin Harvey. She spent her early life in Massachusetts and graduated from college at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. Following that, she married her husband Frank, and they relocated to McKenzie in 1984. Many trips were made between McKenzie and Massachusetts to visit her family, whom she loved very much. In McKenzie, she was able to stay at home and raise her children, who, along with her husband and grandchildren, were the most important things in her life.

Once the children were all in school, she returned to college and received her master’s degree in special education at Bethel University. Education was important to Donna. She then got a job as a special education teacher at McKenzie Middle School, where she worked for 19 years. All the kids knew the colorful Miss Donna! She worked tirelessly to support her special education students.

After retirement, Donna and her husband enjoyed making regular trips to see their three children and four grandchildren who live in Tampa, Florida, Chattanooga, and Boulder, Colorado.

She is survived by her husband Frank Lacey, her daughter Ryan (John Paul -husband) Hampstead, Rory (Jennifer – wife) Lacey, and Randy (Hannah- wife) Lacey, four grandchildren Cyrus, Hilary, Elle, and Poppy, a sister Doreen (John- Husband), and niece and nephews Hans, Marla, and Zachary.
