Homer “Eddie” Staton

YUMA, Tenn. - Mr. Homer “Eddie” Staton,75, of Yuma, Tennessee, died Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Vanderbilt Medical Center

Funeral services are Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 1 p.m., in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Antwan Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home on Saturday, 11 a.m. until time of the service.

Mr. Staten was born May 15, 1949 in Huntingdon, Tennessee, to the late H.C. Staten and I.B. (Bomer) Staten.  He confessed in Christ at a young age, was a member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. He worked Dement Construction for many years.  Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Vester Ann Staten, a brother, Joe Howard Staten and two sisters, Mary Ruth Hart and Sue Helen Williams.

He leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Gregory Staten, Jonathan Staten and Eric (Dr. Lawanda) Staten, two daughters, Carla Staten and Daphne Reece (Rob), two brothers, Rufus Staten and Ray Staten, a half-brother, Jonny Melton (Susan) a half-sister, Lisa Hess. He also leaves seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
