PARIS — James T. “Jim” Lacey, III, 92, of Paris, TN, died Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at his residence.
He retired after 22 years as a senior quality engineer from GenRad, Inc. Jim was a board member for Friends of the W.G. Rhea Library and was a volunteer for Henry County Helping Hand. He was a longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church in Paris.
Aside from his family, three of Jim’s passions were technology, music, and all things New England, especially hiking in the White Mountains. Well into his 80s, he prided himself on keeping fit and keeping up-to-date with the latest computer tech.
Jim was born November 12, 1931, in Southbridge, Maryland, to the late James T. Lacey, Jr., MD and the late Charlotte VanCleave Lacey.
He was married September 12, 1954, to Mary Beatrice Bonini Lacey, who survives, of Paris.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by his two sons, Francis Patrick “Frank” Lacey of McKenzie, Tenn., and James T. Lacey, IV of Groveland, Maryland; one sister, Joan (Tallman) Lacey of Idaho Falls, Idaho, three grandchildren, Rory, Ryan, and Randy; and four great grandchildren, Cyrus, Elle, Hilary, and Poppy.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Maureen Ann Lacey; and his brother, John Van Cleave.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, Tenn. 38242. The body is to be cremated with a memorial service to be held at a later date at Grace Episcopal Church.
