HENRY, Tenn. - Jerry Haynes Hamlin, 82 of Henry, TN, died Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her daughters.

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St./P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242, is in charge of arrangements. Visitation is Sunday, December 8, 2024, 4 – 7 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home and Monday, December 9, 2024, noon – 2 p.m.. Her funeral service is Monday at 2 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Chaplain Franklin Hicks and Rev. Don Williams officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Henry, Tenn.

Jerry was a member of First Baptist Church of McKenzie, Tenn. She worked as the executive director of the McKenzie Housing Authority for 13 years and was the executive director of the Paris Housing Authority for 19 years. Jerry loved camping, raising and riding horses, sewing, cardinals and bird watching. She loved spending time with her family, friends, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Jerry was born June 21, 1942, in Clarksburg, Tenn. 

She married Joe N. Hamlin on November 24, 1960, and he preceded her in death May 8, 2017. 

Survivors include two daughters, LeAnn Hamlin (Debbie Rushing) of Kissimmee, Florida, and JoEllen Hamlin Garces of Knoxville, Tenn.; a sister, Mary Ellen Ellis of Paris, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Nick (Katie) Garces of Collierville, Tenn., and Katelyn (Robert) Tunnell of Knoxville, Tenn.; four great-grandchildren, Liam, Maddux, and Travis Tunnell, and Josie Kate Garces; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Jerry was preceded in death by her father, Curtis Taylor Haynes; mother, Madelyn Jewell Simmons Barham; and stepfather, H.C. Barham.
