Joan Welch

McKENZIE, Tenn. -     A Funeral service for Joan Welch is Friday, November 29, 2024, at Union Academy Baptist Church at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends on Friday at the church at 11 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Union Academy Cemetery, McKenzie.

Ms. Welch, 82, died Monday at AHC of McKenzie. She was a member of Union Academy Baptist Church, a retired third grade school teacher for McKenzie Special School District.  She was born in McKenzie on September 22, 1942, to the late Andrew and Dorothy Coleman Welch.

She is survived by her sister, Kathryn Smith of McKenzie and brother, Phillip (Peggy) Welch of McKenzie, three nieces, Beverly (Stanley) Haywood of McKenzie, Angela (John) Hartz of McKenzie, Stacy (Jess) Shackelford of Smyrna and one nephew, Steven (Renee) Welch of Nashville and several great nieces and nephews.
