Mrs. Lea Etta Stokes, 68, of Huntingdon, Tennessee died Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral services are Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Andrew Stokes officiating. Interment will follow in Concord Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the Cherrywood Room of Chase Funeral Home on Friday from 4 p.m.  until 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Pallbearers  are Richard Stokes, Paul Stokes, Jake Stokes, Fisher Stokes, Cody Umstead, and Jake Chandler. Honorary pallbearers will be Neal Haywood, Patrick Haywood, Danny Haywood, and David Renfroe.

Mrs. Stokes was born August 10, 1956, in Huntingdon, to the late Joseph Warren Haywood and Juanita Evelyn Laws McCord. She was a graduate of the Huntingdon High School Class of 1974, and a lab manager for the McKenzie Medical Center. She was preceded in death by a step-father, Thomas McCord.

Along with her mother, Juanita McCord, she is survived by her husband of 40 years, Roy Steve Stokes, step-mother, Nancy Haywood,  three daughters, Elizabeth Stokes Chandler (Jake) of Tupelo, Mississippi, Rebecca Stokes, of Memphis, Tennessee, Madeline Umstead (Cody) of Brownsville, Tennessee, a sister, Susan Parker (Joe) of Cedar Grove, three brothers, Danny Haywood (Gail) of Huntingdon, Patrick Haywood (Sherry) of Clarksburg, Neal Haywood (Tammy) of McKenzie, and a step-brother, Richard Gilbert, of Huntingdon. She also leaves one grandchild, Annalea Chandler.
