BRUCETON — Mr. Larry Spencer, 87, of Bruceton, died Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at his home surrounded by loved ones.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 9, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Bruceton Funeral Home with Mr. Joel Edwards officiating. Burial to follow in New Prospect Cemetery. There will also be a Masonic Rights service held at the cemetery.

The family has asked in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Mr. Spencer’s name. Donations can be made online at donate.shrinerschildrens.org or mailed to Shriners Hospitals for Children at 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.

Mr. Larry Belew Spencer, 87, was born on November 5, 1938, in Yuma, Tenn. to the late Vernon Hoover Spencer, Sr. and the late Wilma Lewis Belew Spencer. He was a retired funeral director who owned and operated Bruceton Funeral Home for 56 years. He was a long- time member of Bruceton First United Methodist Church, Bruceton Masonic Lodge #731, Nashville Scottish Rites, past chairman and member of Carroll County Scottish Rites, member of Al Chymia Shrine, where he past captain and charter member and co-founder of the Carroll County Mounted Patrol, member of the Carroll County Field Trial Club, member and twice president of Bruceton Lions Club, member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter #314 and a 50- year Carroll County commissioner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Wilma Spencer, a brother, Vernon Spencer Jr, and a son, Timothy Ray Williams, Sr.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Brenda Maddox Spencer of Bruceton. One daughter, Holly Spencer of Camden, three sons, William “Bubba” (Amy) Spencer of Bolivar, Jamie (Vicky) Williams of Bruceton, and Robert “Roho” (Jennifer) Williams of Bruceton.; nine grandchildren, Spencer (Kirsti) Berry of Camden, T.J. (Molly) Williams of Camden, Brianna (Cody) Hicks of Camden, Haden (Tori) Williams of Hollow Rock, Haley (Isaiah) Donald of Bruceton, Dalton Williams of Nashville, Brylee (Brady) Barham of Camden, Keely Williams of Bruceton and Colt Spencer of Bolivar, and seven great-grandchildren, Knox and Nash Berry of Camden, Talon and Collins Williams of Hollow Rock, Reid and Luke Donald of Bruceton and Blayze Hicks of Camden.
