McKENZIE, Tenn. —      

Mrs. Octavia M Derrington, 74, died at her residence on Monday, July 14, 2025. There are no services at this time. Mrs. Derrington wishes were to be cremated.

Mrs. Derrington was born on August 10, 1950, to Peter and Adeline Hennigan Zykan in East Chicago, IN and was a cook on a riverboat.

She is survived by her children, Lorraine (Eugene) Deck of McKenzie, James Webber of McKenzie, Donald (Lisa) Rud of Rensselaer, Indiana and Jason Kottka, three sisters Eve (Michael) Scher, Patricia (Kenneth) Aders and Margaret (Richard) Schmittel all of Indiana, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great- grandson.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, David A Derrington, a daughter, Margaret Rose Kottka, two sisters, Madeline Hugh and Leona Davenport Boarders and three brothers, Glenn Woolworth, Wayne Woolworth and Lenard Woolworth.
