Virginia Lee Sanders Walters

Virginia Lee Sanders Walters, 87, of the Vale community, died Thursday, November 14, 2024, at her residence.

She worked as a sewing machine operator at HIS Clothing for over 40 years. She enjoyed her family and watching the Titans. Virginia was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Hollow Rock, Tenn.

Virginia was born January 6, 1937, in Henry County to the late Raymond and Queenie Francisco Sanders.

She married the late Wesley Walters in 1951.

She is survived by two daughters, Rhonda (Danny) Hodge of Yuma, Penny (Gary) McGee of Hollow Rock, Tenn.; two sons, Roger Walters of Hollow Rock, TN, Tony (Pat) Walters of Huntsville, Alabama; four sisters, Peggy Cate of Paris, Hazel Martin of Paris, Carol Vickers of Mansfield, Kathy Collie of Mansfield; one brother, Luke Sanders of Mansfield; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and late husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sherry Walters; two sons, Michael Walters, Timothy Walters; two brothers, Chuck Sanders, Ralph Sanders; and one sister, Betty Ruth Wheatley.

Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St./ P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242, will be handling the arrangements. Her visitation will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Steve Whitworth officiating.

Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will follow the service in New Hope Cemetery in Hollow Rock, Tenn.

Memorials may be made to the New Hope Cemetery fund.
