OMAHA (June 24) — In a season marked by grit, determination, and unforgettable moments, the University of Tennessee Volunteers clinched their first College World Series National Championship with a thrilling victory over the Texas A&M Aggies in game 3. This historic win not only represents the Volunteers’ first baseball national championship title but also breaks a 16-year national championship drought for the university.

Narcotics Found by Citizen — On June 22, Carroll County Sheriff’s Department received a call from Captain Davis from the National Guard Training Center located in Milan, TN. Captain Davis stated that one of his soldiers brought him a bag with money, marijuana (2.4 grams) and drug paraphernalia. The soldier stated that he was spraying weeds around the fences and was headed to the volleyball court to spray weeds around that area and that was when he discovered the bag. The bag was opened and when he saw the contents he turned it in to Captain Davis. There was one glass jar that had small baggies inside the jar and two of the baggies contained a green leafy-like substance believed to be marijuana, $70 cash, 1 scale, 1 box of plastic baggies, and one small bag of tobacco.
