TENNESSEE (July 1) — Average gasoline prices in Tennessee increased 11.9 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.09/g today, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 3,821 stations in Tennessee. Prices in Tennessee are 3.1 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 3.4 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has risen 1.4 cents in the last week and stands at $3.77 per gallon.

Narcotics Found by Citizen — On June 22, Carroll County Sheriff’s Department received a call from Captain Davis from the National Guard Training Center located in Milan, TN. Captain Davis stated that one of his soldiers brought him a bag with money, marijuana (2.4 grams) and drug paraphernalia. The soldier stated that he was spraying weeds around the fences and was headed to the volleyball court to spray weeds around that area and that was when he discovered the bag. The bag was opened and when he saw the contents he turned it in to Captain Davis. There was one glass jar that had small baggies inside the jar and two of the baggies contained a green leafy-like substance believed to be marijuana, $70 cash, 1 scale, 1 box of plastic baggies, and one small bag of tobacco.
