From the Oct 8, 2024 e-EditionDUI — Jolie Reed, 34, Main Street, McKenzie, was charged with DUI, Implied Consent, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident on October 1.
According to a report by Dustin McClure, MPD responded to a parking lot where a portion of a car’s front end was found. The driver and car were found at a residence.
Reid performed poorly on sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI-Second Offense.
DUI — A juvenile was charged with DUI, Speeding, and Possession of Tobacco Products on September 30.
Officer Dustin McClure observed the juvenile’s car speeding on Highland Drive. The driver performed poorly on the field sobriety test. She also was in possession of tobacco products. The driver was transported to Carroll County Jail.
DUI — Kyle L. Maxwell, 23, Hinkledale Road, McKenzie, was charged with DUI - Second Offense, Speeding, and Display of Registration Plate on October 5.
Officer Dustin McClure stopped the vehicle for speeding. During the stop, officers found an open 12-pack of beer and two firearms. Maxwell performed poorly on the field sobriety test. He was charged, as noted.
Driving on Suspended License - Second Offense — Jamie Cummins, 38, Pate Lane, McKenzie was charged with Driving on Suspended License and Violation of Financial Responsibility on October 2.
Officer Dalton Raspberry stopped the vehicle after Cummings failed to maintain the traffic lane in a construction zone. A check of her license revealed the suspended status. She was cited into court.
Driving on a Revoked License — Montryll Maurice Robinson, 28, Reynolds Street, McKenzie was charged with Driving on a Revoked License and Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign on October 7.
Officer Dustin McClure observed Robinson’s vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign. During the traffic stop, Robinson was charged as noted and the vehicle was seized.
Driving on a Revoked License — Seth Anthony Cannon, 34, College Street, Gleason, was charged with Driving on a Revoked License on October 5.
Sergeant Cody Coleman witnessed Cannon’s vehicle parked on the side of the road and appearing to be stalled. Officer Coleman turned around and then got behind the vehicle as it was again moving. A check of Cannon’s license revealed the revoked status. The car was towed, and Cannon was transported to jail.
Driving on Suspended License — Nicole Ferguson, 42, 124 Highway, McKenzie, on October 6.
Officer Darren Davis stopped Ferguson’s car for speeding and learned of the suspended status. She was cited into court.
Driving on Suspended License — Cherilyn Nichole Simmons, 33, Milan, was charged with Driving on a Suspended License after a traffic stop on October 5.
Officer Darren Davis stopped Simmons for a malfunctioning headlight and discovered her license status. She was cited into court.
Fraud — A McKenzie woman was the victim of fraudulent use of her SNAP benefits card.
Officer Bryan Batchelder took a report from the female victim on October 5 stating her card had been fraudulently used at grocery and dollar stores. One of the use was in Indiana and another in Illinois.
Assault — Dmeshia Dumas, 34, Magnolia Street, McKenzie, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for assault in Henry County.
Officer Timothy Dillon made the arrest on October 3 and transported Dumas to the county line to transfer custody to Henry County officers.

Recovered Property — On April 9, Deputy Verner recovered a firearm that had been located on top of a trash can at a residence on Clarksburg Road after a Republic Services driver reported finding it.
