Aggravated Criminal Trespassing —Kenny R. Mann, 53, Hamilton Street, McKenzie was charged with Aggravated Criminal Trespassing and Theft on February 13.

Officer Matthew Cunningham and Sergeant Cody Coleman received a call from a resident of Hamilton Street stating his wheel barrow, batteries, drive shafts, and antique steel car wheels were taken from his residence. He had video evidence to indicate the items were taken by his neighbor, Kenny Mann.

Officers went to Mann’s house and interviewed him. Officers found the stolen items at Mann’s home. He was arrested and transported to Carroll County Jail.

DUI, Resisting Arrest — Dylan Blake McSwain, 33, Mansfield, Tenn. was charged with Driving Under the Influence, Resisting Arrest, and Violation of Implied Consent on February 12.

Officer Dustin McClure was dispatched to Rivals for a report of an active fight. The officer observed a pickup truck leaving the restaurant and followed it. The pickup truck exited the roadway, striking a curb and then reentered the roadway. The vehicle stopped at a parking lot.

Officer McClure and Deputy Crowe asked McSwain to exit the vehicle. The officers reported he was unsteady on his feet and resisted being arrested. McSwain refused a blood-alcohol draw at the hospital, so the officers asked and received a warrant through Judge Michael King for the blood draw. McSwain was transported to Carroll County Jail.

Possession of Meth, Speeding — Rachel Maranda Johnsonius, 41, Union Church Road, McKenzie, was charged with Manufacturing Methampthamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Speeding on February 16.

Officer Steven Scott stopped Johnsonius’ car for speeding. The officer said she appeared nervous, so he asked if he could search the car. She refused the request so the MPD canine Gotch was requested at the scene. The dog alerted on the vehicle providing probably cause for a search.  The officer indicated he found a backpack with 1.4 grams of white crustal substance that field tested as meth, and a glass smoking pipe. She was arrested on the drug charges and cited into court on the charge of speeding.

Leaving The Scene Of An Accident — Larry Joe Logan, 78, Highway 436, McKenzie, was charged with Leaving The Scene Of An Accident on February 16.

Officer Tanner Jackson responded to Como Street, where a witness saw a gray Jeep strike a utility pole and then drove away. Broken parts of the Jeep were left at the scene. Carroll County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a damaged Jeep turning into a residence in a subdivision.

The retired General Sessions Judge, Mr. Logan answered the door when officers went to the residence and Mr. Logan answered in the affirmative if he had been driving his Jeep. He opened the garage door when the vehicle was parked. The Jeep had front end damage, damaged front tires, a missing side fender, a broken windshield, a damaged bumper, and debris of wood in the driver’s side fender.

Mr. Logan said he had hit a ditch after leaving a friend’s house and did not realize he had struck a utility pole. He was aware of the damage and was planning to contact authorities.

Mr. Logan was cited into Carroll County General Sessions Court and has 10 days to report to the Carroll County Jail for booking.

Driving on a Revoked License — Stacy L. Garner, 49, Barksdale Avenue, McKenzie, was charged with Driving on a Revoked License on February 13.

Officer Dustin McClure observed Garner driving at around 11:58 p.m. and was aware of her license status. He cited her into Carroll County General Sessions Court.

John C. Barley, 27, Williston, Florida, was charged with Public Intoxication on February 12.

Officer Timothy Dillon responded to Cherry Avenue where two males were in a physical altercation. The other subject stated he was attempting to keep Barley from driving away from the residence while intoxicated.

Officer Dillon arrested Barley on a charge of Public Intoxication.

Failure to Appear — Kenneth R. Beckham, 38, Walnut Circle, McKenzie, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear on February 13.

Assistant Chief Trey Boucher was dispatched to a disturbance on Walnut Circle. Mr. Beckham was found to have an outstanding warrant from the Milan Police Department. Beckham was transported to Carroll County Jail.
