DUI — Dev Nimeshbhai Patel, 21, Tyson Avenue, Paris, was charged with DUI after he wrecked on April 20.

Officer Darren Davis was dispatched to Como Street after a vehicle exited the road and struck a tree.

EMS was dispatched to the scene after Patel complained of pain. Officers located alcoholic beverages at the scene. A field sobriety test was administered. Patel was transported to the hospital and his vehicle was towed from the scene.

Coercion of a Witness — Raymond D. Boyd, 68, Spruce Street, McKenzie, was charged with Coercion of a Witness and Violation of an Order of Protection on April 15.

Officer Kyle Beauchamp filed the report stating the victim of Domestic Assault reported the defendant, Boyd, in the case, had phoned him asking the victim to drop the charges. Boyd had also been driving past the victim’s residence. The victim stated he feared for his life. Boyd was charged with two counts of Violation of Protection. Huntingdon Police Department made the arrest as Boyd was in Huntingdon to pay a utility bill.

Simple Possession or Casual Exchange, Other Charges — Joshua Adam Rutherford, 33, Nashville, was charged with the Sale/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Simple Possession, and Drug Paraphernalia on April 15.

Officer Darren Davis stopped Rutherford’s vehicle was speeding. A smell of marijuana was detected, so a probable cause search netted pills in a plastic bag that tested positive for MDMA/Ecstasy, 84.5 grams of a substance believed to be marijuana, and digital scales. He was charged with Schedule VI, Drug Paraphernalia, Speeding, and Violation of Financial Responsibility. Rutherford was transported to jail.

Evading Arrest, Reckless Endangerment — Jerry Lynn Clark, Jr., 44, Yates Street, Paris, was charged with Evading Arrest and Reckless Endangerment on April 17.

Officer Dalton Raspberry attempted a traffic stop of a 2004 Yamaha motorcycle driven by Clark, who led officers on a chase through many residential streets before exiting the city limits into Henry County. He was pursued by the THP and eventually stopped by Paris Police Department. Paris took Clark into custody and impounded his motorcycle. He was transported to Henry County Jail.

His charges were Evading Arrest (felony), Reckless Endangerment, Violation of Financial Responsibility, Violation of Traffic Control Devices (8 stop signs), and No Motorcycle License.

Active warrants were on file in Calloway County, Kentucky for Clark.

Driving on Suspended License — Jorge Fernandez Fabian, Jr., 28, Martin, was charged with Driving on Suspended License, Simple Possession and Improper Display of Registration.

Officer Matthew Cunningham stopped the vehicle Fabrian was driving for the registration violation and discovered Fabian’s license to be revoked due to a prior DUI. The passenger of the vehicle was the owner of the vehicle. When asked if he knew Fabian’s license was revoked, he responded ‘yes’ which allowed officers to impound the vehicle. Nineteen grams of green leafy material were found in Fabian’s backpack, leading to the Simple Possession charge.

Driving on Revoked License — Justin Craig Moore, 34, Boydsville Road, Palmersville, was charged with Driving on a Revoked License, Simple Possession, and Display of Registration on April 17.

Officer Sean Beck stopped Moore’s vehicle in the Henry County portion of McKenzie. Moore license indicated a revoked status due to a prior DUI. A check of the vehicle revealed Xanax, a bottle of fake urine. Moore was arrested and booked into Henry County Jail.

Simple Possession, Failure to Have Driver’s License — Dallas Brent Baker, 34, Huntingdon was charged with Simple Possession, Failure to Possess a Driver’s License and Violation of Financial Responsibility after his motorcycle was stopped on April 17.

Officer Dalton Raspberry stopped the motorcycle and discovered the rider did not have a motorcycle license nor insurance. A tub of 3.5 grams of marijuana was discovered during the traffic stop. Baker was transported to Carroll County Jail and the motorcycle was impounded.

Expired Registration, Simple Possession — Steven C. Reid, 38, Johnson Street, Trezevant, was charged with Expired Registration, Financial Responsibility, and Simple Possession after a traffic stop on April 18.

Officer Dalton Raspberry stopped Reid’s vehicle for an inoperable headlight and expired registration. The driver admitted he did not have insurance. Sergeant Cody Coleman and canine Toby arrived, and the canine made a positive ‘hit’, granting probable cause to search. Two baggies of marijuana were discovered in the vehicle.

Reid was cited into General Sessions Court.
