From the Apr 30, 2024 e-EditionAggravated Child Abuse — Felicia Elen Sarkozi, 32, McKenzie, and Robert C. Warren, Jr., 47, McKenzie, were arrested on outstanding Child Abuse warrants on April 22.
Officer Dalton Raspberry and Sgt. Artymovich served active warrants at a Morris Court address. Three children were inside the home at the time of the arrest. Sarkozi phoned a neighbor to take care of the children. Inside the house, officers indicated they found a marijuana smoking pipe, a grinder, and a crystal-like residue. Mr. Warren admitted to using Meth earlier in the day.
Their bonds were set at $150,000 each.
Domestic Assault — A warrant was issued for Kenneth R. Beckham, 37, Walnut Circle, McKenzie, after a threat of domestic assault on April 27.
Officer Tanner Jackson responded to Walnut Circle to where a female stated Beckham threatened her life if she told about his history of altercations with her. The female victim fled the scene and phoned police. Beckman had fled the original residence, so authorities issued a warrant for his arrest. He was on probation for a separate Domestic Assault conviction with the same victim.
Driving on Suspended License — Trey D. Mitchell, 31, Buena Vista Road, Huntingdon, was charged with Driving on a Suspended License on April 23.
Officer Sean Beck stopped Mitchell’s vehicle because he knew of the suspended status.
Shoplifting — Kowasha Quinvette Smith, 41, West End Avenue, McKenzie, was charged with shoplifting at Dollar General on April 24.
Sergeant Cody Coleman was dispatched to the store, where Smith was identified as a possible shoplifter. Suspect items valued at $57.20 were in her purse. She was cited to General Sessions Court.
Shoplifting — MPD investigated a shoplifting incident at Dollar General in which the suspect placed $175.95 worth of merchandise in a cart and left without paying. The suspect was in a dark-colored Jeep Compass.
Criminal Trespass — Maurice L. Lawrence, 31, Coleman Road, Memphis was charged with Criminal Trespass on April 25.
Officer Bryan Batchelder responded to Pocket’s where Lawrence has an active ban notice. Lawrence was arrested.
Driving on Revoked — Jerry Gilbert, 47, Tumbling Creek Road, McKenzie, was charged wiht Driving on a Revoked License on April 24.
Sergeant Cody Coleman was dispatched to Highway 124 where Weakley County authorities reported a reckless driver entering the city limits of McKenzie. Officer Coleman attempted to turn around and follow the vehicle after witnessing it entering the city. He searched city streets and found the vehicle parked and the driver on the porch of a residence. Weakley County had an active warrant for Gilbert for Failure to Appear. His vehicle was seized and the driver was transported to Carroll County Jail.
Theft — Maegan Mancel, Northwood Drive, Huntingdon reported a handgun was stolen and was first notice missing after she asked two visitors to leave her residence. She was unsure how long the pistol was missing.
Vandalism — A Cherrywood Avenue residence reported that her roadside mailbox had been vandalized or struck by a vehicle. The incident occurred on April 27.
