Attempted Theft — On February 13, Deputy Bo Ezell responded to Palmer Shelter Road in Huntingdon regarding an attempted theft of a dump trailer.

Upon arrival, Deputy Ezell made contact with the property owner and observed deep ruts in the yard consistent with a vehicle attempting to hook up to and remove the dump trailer parked on the property but was unsuccessful.

The incident remains under investigation.

Driving on Suspended License — On February 13, Deputy Bo Ezell initiated a traffic stop on a blue Chevrolet bearing a Tennessee tag for a registration violation.

The driver was identified as Johnny Lee Brogdon Jr., 45, of Ripley. A driver’s license check revealed his license was suspended out of Milan City Court for failure to pay fines and costs, with a suspension date of October 29, 2025, to indefinite reinstatement.

Brogdon was placed under arrest and transported to the Carroll County Jail, where he was charged with driving while license suspended.

Drug Charges — On February 13, Deputy Steven D. Scott observed a white vehicle traveling on Highway 22 South driven by an individual known to have a suspended license. A traffic stop was conducted.

While speaking with the driver, Deputy Scott detected the odor of alcohol and marijuana coming from the vehicle. A passenger, identified as Stephen Gray Jaco, 32, of Mayfield, Ky., presented a bag containing approximately 31 grams of marijuana and stated it belonged to him.

A search of the vehicle was conducted, during which a digital scale was located among Jaco’s property. Based on the quantity of marijuana and the presence of the scale, Jaco was arrested and charged with possession of Schedule VI with intent.

This incident occurred in Carroll County.

Driving on Suspended License — On February 16, Deputy Bo Ezell initiated a traffic stop on a silver Chevrolet bearing Tennessee tag for a light law violation.

The driver was identified as Christopher Lee Mancell, 37, of Huntingdon. A driver’s license check revealed his license was suspended out of Huntingdon City Court for failure to appear for trial/court from May 29, 2022, to indefinite reinstatement.

Mancell was cited for driving while license suspended and is to be booked in by February 26.

This incident occurred in Carroll County.
