Possession of Methamphetamine — Crystal Porter, 40, Milan, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine on August 16.

According to a report by Deputy Alex Sherwood, he made contact with a suspicious subject near the intersection of Highway 77 and Highway 79 in Atwood. The subject, identified as Porter, told the deputy she had methamphetamine in her possession.

Porter retrieved a small clear bag containing a crystal-like substance and a makeshift pipe with residue. She was arrested and transported to Carroll County Jail.

Warrant Arrest — Veri Samuel Weaver Jr., 54, Holladay, was arrested for an active warrant on August 18.

According to a report by Deputy Christopher Adams, Hollow Rock Police Officer Barry Larkin stopped a vehicle driven by Weaver. A NCIC check revealed that Weaver had an active warrant out of Seminole County, Florida, for violation of probation. The warrant was confirmed as active with extradition limited to southern states.

Weaver, who was already incarcerated at the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office in Huntingdon at the time of the report, will be extradited on the warrant.

Assault on Officers — Matthew T. Dillingham, 27, Hollow Rock, was charged with three counts of Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Interference with an Emergency Call, Resisting Arrest, and Aggravated Cruelty to Animals on August 24.

According to a report by Deputy Paul Williams, deputies responded to a 911 call at Kee Street in Hollow Rock. The caller, later identified as the suspect’s grandmother, reported her grandson was “going crazy” before the call disconnected. When officers arrived, Dillingham came out of the home, yelling and threatening officers. Deputies initially believed he was holding a weapon, but it was later determined to be a phone.

Dillingham then ran back into the house. When deputies forced entry into the residence, Dillingham attempted to strike Deputy Williams and resisted arrest. During the struggle, a dog bit Deputy Williams, causing a laceration to his arm. Sergeant Mike Smith also sustained an injury to his hand.

Dillingham was eventually subdued and taken into custody. While on scene, deputies discovered a pool of blood inside the house and later found four dead dogs outside the residence. Family members advised that Dillingham had killed the animals in the days prior.

He was transported to Carroll County Jail.
