From the May 13, 2025 e-EditionDrug Violation — According to a report by Officer Malachi Arline on April 23, he observed a gray Chrysler 300 speeding in a 30-mph zone on Buena Vista Road. He conducted a traffic stop, and when approaching the vehicle, he could smell a strong odor of marijuana. The driver, Dorian Williams, 23, admitted to having marijuana. In the car was a small plastic bag of marijuana, 200 mg of THC-infused syrup, and a small blunt. He was arrested and on the way to Carroll County Jail, he admitted to having two additional bags of marijuana in his pants and a bag of psilocybin mushrooms.
Aggravated Assault — According to a report by Officer Tony King on May 2, he responded to an assault at the Huntingdon Liquor Store. Jason Moore stated that Scotty Hodge, 47, struck him several times with a baton or night stick. Moore didn’t know his assailant; his girlfriend identified him. Hodge was arrested at his residence without incident.
Reckless Driving — According to a report by Officer Richardson, he was sitting at the Inclusion Park on May 4 when he witnessed a Chevy Silverado doing donuts in the Civic Center parking lot. The driver, Colton Breeden, 19, was charged with Reckless Driving and given a misdemeanor citation. He was advised he had 10 days to book into Carroll County Jail.
Driving on Revoked — According to a report by Officer Brad Allen on May 8, he was dispatched to a crash on Main Street. Samantha Carter, 45, swerved to miss a dog and hit a utility pole. After a computer check, it showed she had a revoked driver’s license. She was charged with Driving While Revoked - First Offense and Violation of Financial Responsibility.
Assault — According to a report by Officer Brad Allen on April 28, he received a call about a fight in the Subway parking lot. Anna Crews, 18, of Huntingdon, hit a minor female victim in her face in the parking lot. She was issued a warrant and booked and charged with Simple Assault.
Child Neglect (Non-Violent) — According to a report by Officer Ethan Parham on April 21, officers were dispatched to a home on High Street in reference to a welfare concern of two unsupervised children. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the witnesses who had arrived for a roof inspection when they found an adult female, later identified as Stephanie Smith, 34, of Huntingdon, lying on the ground beside the driver’s side door of a vehicle parked in the driveway. Two minor children were observed playing without any adult supervision. Smith showed clear signs of intoxication and admitted she consumed a full pint of Jack Daniel’s whiskey while sitting in her vehicle. There were no other adults present at the time. Smith was placed under arrest for child endangerment and transported to Carroll County jail.
