McKenzie Police Reports
From the Jan 21, 2025 e-EditionDriving on Suspended License — Ariel S. Mercer, 22, Walnut Circle, McKenzie, was charged with Driving on Suspended License and Violation of the Light Law on January 15.
Officer Dustin McClure stopped Mercer’s vehicle for not activating headlights at night. A traffic stop revealed the suspended status. She was cited into General Sessions Court.
Theft — Jane Merrell reported her son’s motorcycle was stolen on January 16. It is a Trailmaster dirt bike, 2022 model, 125cc. It is valued at $3,000 and was taken from Everett Street.
Officer Steven Scott took the report.
Theft — Wendy Calderon, 50, Highway 124, McKenzie, was charged with Theft of Merchandise on January 18.
Officer Tanner Jackson filed the report indicating Calderon took two alcoholic beverages from Dollar General and left the store without paying. Officers stopped the vehicle in which she was a passenger and witnessed the cans of beverages, one of which was opened. Calderon was cited into the Carroll County Jail. The store banned her from again visiting the store.
Aggravated Assault — A 12-year-old male was charged with Aggravated Assault after he physically assaulted a fellow student at McKenzie Middle School.
