Evading Arrest - Tonyka Tier Clark, 38,, Ruth Street, McKenzie, was charged with Evading Arrest on December 21.
Officer Dalton Raspberry observed Clark in the front passenger seat of a passenger car and knew an active arrest warrant had been issued for her. When Clark exited the vehicle, she took flight on foot. She was arrested and transported to Carroll County Jail.
Kristy N. King, 33, Randle Street, McKenzie, was arrested on outstanding warrants for Contempt of Court on December 23.
Officer Timothy Dillon received information concerning King's whereabouts. She exited her vehicle and was attempting to enter a storage building when officers approached her and verified her identity. She was arrested and transported to Carroll County Jail.
Driving on Suspended/Revoked-Fourth Offense - Michael D. Watts, 27, Girl Scout Camp Road, Springville, was arrested for Driving on Revoked - Fourth Offense, Expired Registration and Violation of Financial Responsibility on December 23.
Sergeant Cody Coleman was dispatched to a business on Highland Drive, where Watts was reportedly arguing with the business owner. A caller alerted MPD that Watts left the business and described the vehicle. Officer Coleman stopped the vehicle and learned of Watts’ driving status. Watts had prior offenses - two in Virginia and one in Henry County. He was cited into General Sessions Court.
Harassment - William Andrew Caisse, Jr., Hamilton Street, McKenzie was charged with Harassment on December 24.
Sergeant Cody Coleman filed a report of Caisse making harassing phone calls to a female victim. The two parties in this incident were previously advised not to have contact with each other. Caisse was cited into court.
Driving on Suspended License - Shawn Michael Riley Foreman, 24, Florida Court, McKenzie, was charged with Driving on Suspended License, Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign, Expired Registration, and Violation of Financial Responsibility.
Officer Dustin McClure stopped Foreman’s vehicle after it failed to stop at a stop sign. Foreman’s license was suspended on March 22, 2022. He also did not have valid vehicle registration nor insurance. He was cited into General Sessions Court.
Driving Under the Influence - Devin T. Watkins, 31, Como Street, McKenzie, was charged with Driving Under the Influence, Implied Consent and Possession of a Handgun While Under the Influence on December 27.
Officer Dustin McClure stopped Watkins’ vehicle due to an inoperable taillight. The officer stated Watkins had slurred speech. A green-leafy substance, believed to be marijuana, was found in the suspect’s shirt pocket and Watkins admitted to eating a similar substance as he was being stopped. A field sobriety test was conducted. Watkins admitted he drank six beers within the previous two hours.
The charges include DUI-First Offense, Possession of a Handgun, Simple Possession Schedule 6, Tampering with Evidence, Violation of Implied Consent, and Violation of Light Law.
He was transported to Carroll County Jail.
Driving on Suspended License, Possession - Lamon Matrell Robinson, 38, Park Circle, McKenzie, was charged with Driving on a Suspended License, Illegal Window Tint, Simple Possession or Casual Exchange on December 29.
Officer Dustin McClure stopped the vehicle for suspended illegal window tint. The officer smelled what was believed to be marijuana. A search of the vehicle revealed nine grams of a green leafy material believed to be marijuana. A check of Robinson’s license revealed the suspended status. He could not provide proof of insurance and the window tint tested to be too dark. He was cited into Carroll County General Sessions Court.
Resisting Arrest, Intoxication - Perry Phipps, 65, Florida Avenue, McKenzie, was charged with Resisting Arrest and Public Intoxication on December 27.
Sergeant Cody Coleman and other officers were dispatched to Florida Avenue where Phipps was shirtless and in the street. A neighbor provided video evidence of Phipps causing a disturbance and ‘getting in people’s faces.’ When officers attempted to arrest Phipps, he resisted and was restrained and cuffed. He was transported to Carroll County Jail.
Violation of Probation - Tyrin McCauley, 29, Forrest Park Road, Madison, Tenn. was arrested on two counts of Violation of Probation and Illegal Window Tint on December 29.
Officer Dustin McClure stopped McCauley’s vehicle, which was suspected violation of window tint. A check of the driver’s license revealed the Violation of Probation warrants out of Henry County. McCauley was transferred to the custody of Henry County authorities.
Failure to Appear - Jerry D. Gibson, 51, Highland Drive, McKenzie was arrested for Failure to Appear on December 28.
Sergeant Cody Coleman and other officers were dispatched to West End Avenue, where Gibson was at a family member’s home. Officers were assisting with a funeral processional when they were alerted of Gibson’s whereabouts. They pulled away from that task to arrest Gibson. He was transported to jail.
Theft - A Trezevant resident reported that a stereo was stolen from his truck on December 23.
Officer Matthew Cunningham took the report from victim, Brayzen Wallace, who stated the radio was stolen while he was in McKenzie.
