From the Jul 22, 2025 e-EditionDomestic Assault — Garrett D. Sharp, 50, Main St. S., McKenzie, was arrested for Domestic Assault on July 14.
Sergeant Darren Davis responded to a domestic call in which the victim said Sharp was threatening her. A neighbor stated she heard Sharp threaten to beat up the victim. When the neighbor attempted to calm the situation, she said Sharp began to yell and scream at her.
Sharp was arrested for Domestic Assault ($1,500 bond) and transported to the Carroll County Jail.
Driving on Revoked — Eric Hayse Cannon, 50, Lowe Ln., McKenzie, was arrested for Driving on a Revoked License and Legend Drugs and cited for Expired Registration, Financial Responsibility and Failure to Change Registration Address on July 15.
Patrolman Dustin McClure stopped Cannon’s vehicle for driving with an expired license. Cannon admitted he had received a DUI two years ago and did not have a good license. His ID and registration had a Florida address despite Cannon living in Tennessee. In an inventory search, Ptlm. McClure found a bottle of muscle relaxer pills with another person’s name on it in Cannon’s driver’s side door.
Cannon was arrested and transported to the Carroll County Jail.
Vandalism — Officer Bryan Batchelder responded to a call regarding two juveniles driving go-karts and rutting up a yard on Bertha Street on July 16. The juveniles admitted to driving the go-karts but said their friend next door gave them permission.
Criminal Trespass — Maurice L. Lawrence, 32, Coleman Rd., Memphis, was arrested for Criminal Trespass on July 17.
Patrolman Daniel Pollard responded to a call at a McKenzie convenience store, at which Lawrence was banned. Ptlm. Pollard told Lawrence he was banned from the property and placed him under arrest. Lawrence was taken to Carroll County Jail for booking.
Failure to Appear — Dequan S. Glascoe, 31, Broad St., Greenfield, was arrested for Failure to Appear on July 18.
Officer Dustin McClure stopped Glascoe’s vehicle for a seatbelt violation. Dispatch advised Officer McClure of a warrant for Glascoe’s arrest for Failure to Appear out of Stewart County General Sessions. Glascoe and his passenger received a verbal warning for seatbelt violations. A search revealed a marijuana blunt and a bottle of fake urine were in the car. Both items were logged into evidence.
Officer McClure transported Glascoe to Carroll County Jail for Failure to Appear - Hold for Stewart County.
Theft — Officer Darren Davis gathered information regarding a potential theft at a McKenzie hotel on July 18. A hotel guest reported her Silver Cubic Zirconium ring, valued at approximately $22, missing from her room. The ring was not found at the time of the report.
Driving on Suspended — Sarah Marie Wilkerson, 47, Hwy 423, McKenzie, was charged for Driving on a Suspended License on July 19.
Officer Dustin McClure recognized Wilkerson driving in McKenzie and initiated a traffic stop, knowing she had a suspended license. Officer McClure advised Wilkerson of her license status and that she would receive a citation. She received a 10-day book into Carroll County Jail.
Vandalism — Patrolman Dustin McClure and Sergeant Darren Davis were dispatched to Anderson Drive in reference to a mailbox that had been hit and destroyed on July 19.
The brick mailbox on the scene was completely gone, with chunks of brick thrown down the road. Video footage of the wreck showed an SUV with front-end damage to its passenger side leaving the area. More tire tracks were located entering and exiting a yard on Joy Drive.
The matter is still under investigation.
