From the Jan 13, 2026 e-EditionViolation of Order of Protection — A traffic stop on January 11 led to two people being charged with separate charges.
Officer Matthew Cunningham stopped a vehicle for a brakelight violation. The driver, Clare A. Joyner, 22, McKenzie, was cited into court for Light Law Violation and Violation of Financial Responsibility.
Her passenger, Ralph L. Dennie, Jr., was charged with Violation of Order of Protection after it was discovered that Joyner had an active Order of Protection against Dennie out of Milan. Dennie, 21, of Huntingdon, was transported to Carroll County Jail.
Fraudulent Loans — A resident of Highland Drive reported she received notice of three fraudulent loans made in her name. The items purchased were from an online retailer: two Nintendo Switches, some digital games, and a TV. The value was approximately $2,000.
Officer Dalton Raspberry filed the report.
Domestic Assault — Kevin A. Umsted, 30, of Walnut Circle, McKenzie and Steven Ryshon Lewis, 38, Walnut Circle, were charged with Domestic Assault after he and his friend were involved in a physical altercation on January 9.
Officer Matthew Cunningham reported to Highland Drive, where he saw Lewis walking and Umsted following in a van. The two had been in the van, had an argument at McDonald’s, and then an altercation at a nearby business. Witnesses reported seeing the altercation at McDonald’s.
