From the Feb 25, 2025 e-EditionMeth, Criminal Impersonation — Two subjects were arrested after a traffic stop on February 21.
John Richard Casey, 38, Platt Road, Paris and Sydney D. Owens, 27, Highway 190, Paris both were arrested after Officer Steven Scott stopped Casey’s vehicle for a Display of Registration violation.
According to Officer Scott’s report, the driver, Casey, seemed nervous. Permission was granted to search the vehicle, where the driver had .5 grams of a crystal-like substance that field tested for meth. He also had a syringe and a glass pipe with a white residue.
The female passenger identified herself as Lauren Roberts, but her actual name was Sydney Owens, who had an active arrest warrant outstanding in Henry County. A pipe and digital scale were hidden under Owens’ clothes. A second female passenger retrieved those items for police.
Casey was charged with Possession of Schedule II Meth, Drug Paraphernalia, and Violation of Financial Responsibility. Owens was charged with Criminal Impersonation and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Driving on Suspended License — Christopher Michael Reece, 45, Woodhaven Street, Humboldt, was charged with Driving on a Suspended License, Misuse of Registration and Violation of Financial Responsibility on February 22.
Officer Dustin McClure stopped Reece’s vehicle after the officer witnessed Reece driving and was aware of his license status.
The license plate was registered to a different vehicle and Reece did not have insurance on the vehicle. Reece was cited into General Sessions Court on the three charges.
Cruelty to Animals, Sale of Alcohol to a Person Under Age 21 — Gregory Michael Curry, 62, Park Cove, McKenzie, was charged with Cruelty to Animals and Sale of Alcohol to a Minor on February 22.
Officer Dustin McClure and Sergeant Davis responded to Caldwell Street, where a female resident phoned and stated Curry was at her home, making her uncomfortable. Officers responded and separated the two individuals. The female phoned the police a short time later and stated Curry had given her an alcoholic beverage and marijuana.
Officers went to Curry’s location on Park Cove. While there, they found six dogs outside in 19-degree temperatures with no heat or bedding, food, or water, just ice. Curry responded to the door after police knocked and announced their presence. He was charged on the two charges listed above and transported to Carroll County Jail. Animal Control responded to the scene to care for the animals.
Possession or Casual Exchange — Two persons were charged Simple Possession or Casual Exchange and other charges after their vehicle failed to yield at a stop sign on February 23.
Officer Dustin McClure stopped a vehicle driven by Tristian Shaun Lynn Hood, 23, Linden Street, McKenzie, after it failed to stop at a stop sign. Hood did not have a license. The officer said there was a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
The officer located 3 grams of a powder-like substance in the console, two unmarked pills in the glove box, and four roaches of what is believed to be marijuana. The pills field tested as cocaine.
Hood was arrested and charged with Possession of Schedule 2 and Schedule 6 Controlled Substance, Failure to Stop at Stop Sign, Violation of Financial Responsibility, and Driving While License Required. He was transported to Carroll County Jail.
Kaitlynn A. Webb was cited into General Sessions Court for Possession of Schedule 2 and 6 Controlled Substance. Webb was not arrested due to a current health condition. Since there was a juvenile in the vehicle, a Department of Children’s Services referral was made.
Public Intoxication — Jennifer L. Jordan, 37, Presson Road, McKenzie, was charged with Public Intoxication on February 18.
Sergeant Cody Coleman was summoned to a convenience store where Jordan was inside and causing a disturbance. She was arrested on the charge. The report indicates she has prior charges of Public Intoxication.
Failure to Appear — Jonathan Navarro, 21, Stonewall Avenue, McKenzie, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear.
Officer Dustin McClure and Sergeant Davis arrested Navarro inside his residence and then transported him to Carroll County Jail.
