Assault/Aggravated Assault Against a First Responders / Resisting Arrest / Domestic Assault — On 3/4/2025, Patrolman McClure went to Main St. N in reference to a warrant for Keon Williams, out of Henry County for Domestic Assault. As he approached the residence, he observed a male subject matching Mr. Williams description rounding the corner of the kitchen through the window.

Ptlm. McClure knocked on the front door, as he made contact with the home owner he requested if Keon J. Williams was at the residence. The homeowner made an attempt to act as if Mr. Williams was not present. After it was advised that he was seen through the window the homeowner allowed entry into the house.

As Ptlm. McClure made entry, Mr. Williams exited the rear door, and pushed Ptlm. Cunningham in an attempt to run away from officers trying to affect an arrest on him. Ptlm. McClure exited the residence through the rear door, and made contact with Mr. Williams as Ptlm. Cunningham was attempting to gain control of him.

Keon was struggling and resisting officers trying to handcuff him. After a brief struggle, Keon Williams was under control and was handcuffed, and advised dispatch of the assault on a first responder. Keon was placed into my patrol car and transported to the Carroll County Jail for the proper booking procedures on the following: Assault on a 1st responder - Bond $5,000; Resisting stop, halt, arrest - Bond $2,500; Warrant 24-CR-2064 - For Domestic assault - Hold for Henry County.

Driving Unregistered Vehicle / Driving on Suspended/Revoke License / Seat Belt Law — On 3/3/2025, Patrolman McClure observed a grey 2009 Nissan ATS bearing no registration traveling south on Highland Dr. from Cherrywood.

He initiated a traffic stop on the above-mentioned vehicle for no visible registration. He learned the driver, Clare A. Joyner, had a suspended license out of TN. Also requested was the status of insurance on the vehicle. Joyner advised she did not. The plate lights on the vehicle did not appear to be functional when the trunk was opened. She also did not have her seatbelt on and fastened when the officer approached the vehicle. The vehicle’s vin was run through dispatch and the vehicle was not registered to Ms. Joyner, Ms. Joyner advised she had purchased the vehicle and not had a chance to register it.

She was advised she would be cited into Carroll County General Sessions and advised of the 10-day book-in for the proper procedure on the following: Driving on Suspended (1st); Seat belt law; Display of plates; Financial Responsibility and Driving unregistered vehicle.

Criminal Simulation — On 03/05/2025, Ptlm. Dillon was dispatched to 15671 Highland Dr. McKenzie, TN, 38201 (Dollar General) for a subject attempting to pass a counterfeit $100 bill.

The officer spoke with the Manager Zachary Hugueley, who advised that a male subject attempted to purchase a gift card with a counterfeit $100 bill. Hugueley stated that the bill had no water markings and had Chinese writing characters on the back. He also stated the male subject was an older white male, with light colored hair.

Hugueley stated that he would get camera footage on a thumb drive. Ptlm. Dillon spoke with Investigator Beauchamp by phone and advised him of the incident.

Leaving the Scene of an Accident / Driving on Suspended/Revoked License — On 03/07/2025, dispatch advised officers of a hit and run that had just occurred at the Cedar St. Plaza. The caller advised a black Ford F-150 was traveling West on Cedar from the location and had struck another vehicle in the parking lot.

Ptlm. McClure advised he was with the pickup on Stonewall St. The resident was clearly intoxicated. He stated that he was driven home by a female from Rivals (1916 Cedar St, McKenzie, TN 38201). He refused to advise who was driving. Sgt. Davis who was on the scene with the reporting party.

The intoxicated resident had made multiple phone calls to the driver and “her uncle” but refused to tell officers on scene who he was talking to. After receiving the insurance information and checking the registration, officers left the scene.

Ptlm. McClure went back to Rivals in an attempt to get footage to try and make contact with the unknown female driver. Having spoken to the manager, who advised the female was trying to make contact when she saw officers pull up and run out the back door. Dispatch was advised of the female trying to leave as McClure made his way to the rear of the building.

While looking for the female in the rear of the building, McClure observed a female and a male going into the rear of Maria’s Mexican Restaurant Bar & Grill.

The female, Angela D. Freeman, was also intoxicated. Ms. Freeman would not listen to repeated commands to exit and come and talk. Ms. Freeman was detained and moved to the rear of a patrol unit. While speaking to Ms. Freeman, she did admit to driving the vehicle and also admitted to drinking beer before driving to Stonewall St. She advised she did not think she hit the other vehicle, and advised that the passenger had done the damage by hitting the vehicle with his door. The damage to the other vehicle involved could not have been done by a door.

Dispatch advised that Angela Freeman’s license was suspended out of Henry County General Sessions with a Suspension date of 02/19/2023.

Ms. Freeman was advised of her driving status and was advised she was being cited into Carroll County General Sessions and advised of the 10-day book into the Carroll County Jail for the proper booking procedure.
