From the Mar 18, 2025 e-EditionDriving on Suspended License — Charles E. Bigham, 68, Booker Street, McKenzie was charged with Driving On A Suspended License, Violation of the Light Law and Violation of Display of Registration Plates on March 13.
Officer Dustin McClure stopped the vehicle for inoperable lights on the registration plate. A license check revealed the suspended status. A tail light was also inoperable.
Bigham was cited into General Sessions Court.
Driving on Suspended License — Sheneika La Shae Moore, 40, Memphis, was charged with Driving on a Suspended License, Speeding and Violation of Financial Responsibility on March 31.
MPD Sergeant Darren Davis observed Moore’s vehicle traveling at 74 miles per hour in a 55-mile per hour zone. A check of her license revealed the suspended status. She could not provide proof of insurance. She was cited into General Sessions Court.
Driving on a Revoked License — Second Offense — Colione Tyrone Sharpe, 26, Elm Street, McKenzie, was charged with Driving on a Revoked License, and Violation of the Light Law on March 13.
Officer Dustin McClure stopped Sharpe’s vehicle for an inoperable headlight. A check of his license revealed the revoked status. He was cited into General Sessions Court on the two charges.
Active Warrant, Violation of Registration Display — Jessica Marie Perry, 37, Walnut Circle, McKenzie was charged Violation of Registration Plate, Violation of Financial Responsibility, and on an active warrant for Violation of Compulsory School Attendance on March 12.
Sergeant Cody Coleman stopped Perry’s vehicle for having a handwritten license plate displayed on her vehicle. She had an actual drive-out license tag that was not displayed. Perry could not provide proof of insurance. Her vehicle was towed to the county’s impound lot and she was transported to Carroll County Jail.
Dogs Running at Large — David Franklin Cox, 64, Oaklawn Drive, McKenzie, was charged with Allowing Dogs to Run at Large on March 11.
Officer Dalton Raspberry responded to Oaklawn Drive to a report of a dog being attacked by another dog.
A gray and white colored pit bull attacked a neighbor’s dog, according to the nearby resident. Animal Control took custody of the pit bull and cited the dog’s owner, David Cox, in Weakley County General Sessions Court.
Domestic Assault — Robert M. Woodard, 69, Forrest Avenue, McKenzie, was charged with Domestic Assault on March 11.
Officer Timothy Dillon, Patrolman Burson and Sergeant Jackson responded to a residence on March 11 because of a threat of domestic violence.
The officers spoke to the victim and then found Woodard in a barn. The report indicates he was intoxicated. Interviews with the victim indicated that Woodard had made several threats of bodily harm. Woodard was arrested and transported to Baptist Hospital for observation. When he was discharged, he was transported to Carroll County Jail.
Simple Possession — Larry Russell Jackson, 50, John White Road, Ripley, was charged with Simple Possession and Light Law Violation on March 13.
Officer Dustin McClure stopped Jackson’s vehicle for an inoperable headlight. He requested a search of the vehicle, and he discovered what he believed to be four grams of a green-leafy substance in a backpack. Jackson was cited into Carroll County General Sessions Court.
