From the May 20, 2025 e-EditionDUI — Karen Marie Webb, 43, Highway 69, Paris, was charged with DUI and Speeding on May 13.
Officer Daniel Pollard stopped Webb’s vehicle for traveling 79 in a 40 m.p.h. zone. He and Carroll County Deputy Jeremy Smith administered a field sobriety test and determined Webb was under the influence. She was transported to Carroll County Jail.
Domestic Assault, Criminal Trespass — Timothy Scott Hickey, 36, Brighton, Tenn., was arrested on May 13 and charged with Domestic Assault and Criminal Trespass.
Sergeant Cody Coleman and Assistant Chief Trey Boucher were dispatched to a residence on Reynolds. The female occupant of the house had issued a ban notice for Hickey at the residence. Officers found the female occupant inside the home. She appeared nervous and pointed to a closed door. Officers opened the door and found Hickey hiding inside the closet. He was arrested on charges listed above and transported to Carroll County Jail.
Vandalism — A resident of Winston Road reported that his car had been egged on May 16.
Officer Matthew Cunningham filed the report stating the vehicle’s owner had it parked at Forrest Avenue when the vandalism occurred.
Theft of Birth Certificate — Lance Anthony Alven, 46, Hillview Apartments, McKenzie was charged with Theft and Vandalism on May 18.
Sergeant Cody Coleman filed the report stating a former female friend with whom Alven had been in a relationship, claimed Alven took her birth certificate. He had burned the document. After interviewing Alven at his address, he was cited into Carroll County General Sessions Court on the above charges.
Attempted Burglary — A resident of Walnut Circle reported an attempted entry into her home in the early morning hours of May 18.
Officer Bill Burson responded to the address, where the resident stated she had noises outside her home and then the breakage of glass of a rear window. Nothing was determined to be missing from the residence at the time of the report.
Shoplifting — Dollar General, Highway 22, McKenzie, reported a shoplifter on May 16.
Officer Daniel Pollard took a report from the store clerk and watched a surveillance video of the incident in which the shoplifter stole a pack of baseball cards. The suspect had a camouflage ball cap, a gray short-sleeved flannel shirt, and khaki pants.
