From the May 6, 2025 e-EditionDriving on a Suspended License — Dillon Edward Ray Gregory, 30, Dunlap Street, Paris, was charged with Driving on a Suspended License- First Offense and Violation of Financial Responsibility on April 29.
Sergeant Cody Coleman observed Gregory driving a Ford Fusion, and the officer knew about Gregory’s license status. He was issued a citation to appear in Carroll County General Sessions Court.
Driving on Suspended License-Second Offense — Jonathan Navarro, 21, Stonewall Street, McKenzie, was charged with Driving on Suspended License-Second Offense and Violation of Financial Responsibility on April 30.
Lt. Justin Brister observed Navarro driving a Dodge Challenger and was aware of his license status due to recent offenses. Navarro was transported to Carroll County Jail.
Driving on Suspended License — Samuel Alexander Jewell, 29, Booker Street, McKenzie, was charged with Driving on a Suspended License on May 2.
Officer Dustin McClure observed an off-road motorcycle being operated on the city streets and made a traffic stop. A check of his license status revealed that it had been suspended on March 22, 2025, in McKenzie City Court. Jewell was cited into Carroll County General Sessions Court.
Criminal Trespassing — Trinity Gordon Maynard, 49, Hinkledale Road, McKenzie, was charged with Criminal Trespassing, Simple Possession, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia on May 2.
Sergeant Darren Davis was dispatched to a residence, where Maynard was previously banned. Officer Davis arrested Maynard and during the arrest, found a glass pipe with residue and a plastic baggie containing hexagon-shaped pills believed to be suboxone. He was transported to Carroll County Jail.
Leaving the Scene of an Accident — Franklin O. Gilliland, 84, Trenton Street, Rutherford, was charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident on May 3.
Sergeant Cody Coleman filed the report stating that Gilliland had entered the oncoming traffic lane and struck the side mirror of a vehicle. Gilliland did not stop and drove from the scene. A witness followed Gilliland’s vehicle and reported the license plate number to police. Gilliland was stopped in Henry, where Sergeant Coleman met Henry County officers to interview Gilliland. He was cited into Carroll County General Sessions Court.
Warrant Service — Joshua Adam Saylor, 27, 6th Avenue, Huntingdon, was arrested on two outstanding warrants on May 2.
Officer Dustin McClure observed Saylor walking on Magnolia Street and was aware of active warrants for his arrest on False Report and Littering charges. Saylor was transported to Carroll County Jail.
Criminal Trespass — Joshua M. Gray, 44, Forrest Avenue, McKenzie, was charged with Criminal Trespass on April 28.
Officer Bryan Batchelder arrested Gray for entering buildings on Forrest Avenue, where no trespassing signs were posted. The report indicates that other officers had previously warned Gray. He was transported to Carroll County Jail.
Theft — MPD is investigating the theft of a bicycle on April 27.
Officer Dustin McClure took a report from Bethel University Security about the theft from Wildcat Cove, Main Street. Surveillance cameras captured the subject wearing a black top with a skeleton print, a mask, and sunglasses.
Public Intoxication — Kenneth W. Cherry, Jr., 37, Florida Court, McKenzie, was charged with Public Intoxication on May 3.
Officer Dustin McClure responded to a verbal dispute between Cherry and a female as they walked along Washington Street. Cherry was considered intoxicated and was transported to Carroll County Jail.
Criminal Trespass — Maurice Lawrence, homeless, McKenzie, was arrested for Criminal Trespass on May 2.
Officer Darren Davis was dispatched to Wyatt’s Coin Laundry, where Lawrence was dancing outside the front door. Customers would not enter the business because Lawrence, according to the report. Lawrence was previously banned from the business, just as many other businesses in McKenzie. He was transported to Carroll County Jail.
