McKenzie Police Reports

Driving on Suspended License — Joseph M. Long, 39, Highland Drive, McKenzie, was charged with Driving on a Suspended License and Failure to Maintain Lane on September 2.

Officer Jaden Rembert observed Rembert driving on University Drive and crossing the double yellow lines three times.

Long had no license with him. A check with the MPD dispatcher revealed the suspended status. Long was cited into General Sessions Court on the two charges.

Violation of Probation — Steven A. Savoy, 36, Walnut Avenue, McKenzie, was arrested on an outstanding warrant of Violation of Probation issued in Weakley County.

Patrolman Dalton Raspberry and Patrolman McClure responded to a report of a dog running at large on Walnut Avenue. When they arrived, the dog had returned to the residence and ran inside. Officers warned the resident of the possible charges if it happens again. While at the residence, officers confirmed that Savoy was at the residence. He was located inside a bedroom closet inside a sleeping bag. He was arrested and turned over to Weakley County officers.

Vandalism — A Forrest Street resident reported that someone had pushed his small window air conditioner from the window onto his floor inside the house on September 5.

Sergeant Cody Coleman filed the report.

Assault — Melissa J. Moreno, 43, McCall Street, Huntingdon, was charged with assault on September 5.

Officer Matthew Cunningham filed the report indicating Moreno shoved one of her rental tenants as she was attempting to collect rent and to repair items in the house on Forrest Avenue. Moreno was cited into Carroll County General Sessions Court.

Theft — A theft of a $5,000 bicycle was reported on August 31 on Walnut Avenue.

Officer Billy Burson took the report from the resident, who stated she was keeping the bicycle for her friend who was incarcerated. The owner gave a description of the bike that has red front forks and a black sticker with metal flakes that wrap the crossbar.
