From the Jan 14, 2025 e-EditionPossession of Drug Paraphernalia — According to a report made by Deputy Alex Sherwood on January 3, a traffic stop was conducted for light law violation and illegible registration plate. The driver and only occupant, Beverly Ann Overton, 48, of Stanton, Tenn., was found to have a suspended Tenn. driver’s license and the displayed registration plate had been altered by intentionally whiting out the expiration date and writing on a fictitious date. A consent search of the vehicle was conducted, and two small clear plastic baggies of meth were found along with two used meth pipes. Overton was placed under arrest and transported to Carroll County Jail.
Domestic Assault — According to a report made by Deputy Sean Bongiovanni on January 3, deputies were dispatched to Butler School Rd. for a possible domestic altercation. The victim met the deputies at the end of the driveway and stated that his girlfriend, Alexis Castillo, 23, of Bruceton, had a verbal argument with him and then began punching him in the head. Then when he called the police, she continued to hit him in the head again. Castillo admitted to the domestic assault and was charged and arrested.
Driving on Revoked and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm — According to a report made by Deputy Chance Townes on January 4, he initiated a traffic stop on a white Honda Civic for an inoperable headlight. Once Deputy Townes approached the vehicle, the driver Justin Arnold, 43, of Camden, appeared fidgety and frustrated. Arnold advised that there was a rifle in the front seat after being asked to step out of the vehicle and a smell of marijuana was also coming from inside of the vehicle. Dispatch informed Deputy Townes that Arnold was a felon and had a revoked license. After a vehicle search a nugget of marijuana was found, white crystal crumbs in the seat that tested positive for meth, a magnetic box with residue, and a firearm. Arnold was charged and transported to Carroll County Jail.
Domestic Assault — According to a report made by Deputy Jeremy Smith on January 6, he received a call about a domestic dispute in Trezevant. The victim stated that Joshua A. Dailey, 36, of Trezevant, grabbed her by the hair and was trying to get her to leave with him. He then grabbed her by the neck attempting to scare her to leave with him, and he also broke three necklaces off her neck. A witness told the same story. Joshua Dailey was then charged with domestic assault and transported to Carroll County Jail.
