Fleeing From Police — According to a report made on 01-09-25 by Deputy Chance Townes, he initiated a traffic stop on a truck for having a taillight out. The driver, Derrick Warbritton, 40, of Huntingdon, drove to his residence and got out of the vehicle. Deputy Chance advised Derrick what he pulled him over for, and Derrick stated that he would not come to the deputy’s vehicle for a warning ticket and that he didn’t have a taillight out. Derrick also was digging into his jacket pocket, and Deputy Townes asked him to stop and he said no and proceeded to walk away and holler for his grandmother then ran to the back of the house. Once Deputy Townes made it to the back of the house, he could no longer see Derrick, so he called for backup. Him and Deputy Thomas located Derrick in the woods near the home. He was arrested for evading arrest.

Unlawful use of a Firearm — According to a report made by Deputy Grant Davis on 01-11-25, he responded to Smyrna Rd. in Huntingdon in reference to shots fired. A neighbor called reporting a fight between her neighbor and another black male. She stated that the black male she did not know pulled out a pistol and fired three rounds off, before getting into their vehicle and driving off. When deputies arrived on scene, the victim was standing in his driveway. Deputies asked to speak to him in which he was not cooperative. Deputies were able to recover a spent shell casting from the snow in the yard. Deputies attempted to try and get the victim to fill out a statement form, but he would not cooperate. Instead, deputies contacted Agent Dennis Adkins and a search warrant for the firearm, and it was found in the trunk of a vehicle in Hollow Rock. The offender, Eric Junior Parker, 54, Hollow Rock, was arrested for the incident.

Animal Displacement — On 1-12-25, deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Futrell Road and Dillahunty Road in reference to 4 dogs inside a kennel with no food and water. The dispatch advised that the caller said it is in an empty lot at the corner of the intersection and there is no house there. Deputy Furr arrived on scene where the caller was waiting and showed her where the dogs were; they couldn’t be seen from the road. In the kennel, there were four pit bull mixes without food and water. The shelter was just two dog houses with some wood chips: no tarp or roof over the kennel. The ribs were showing on all the dogs, but especially a brown and white girl. Dispatch tried to get a hold of the dog catcher and couldn’t. After about two hours, deputies were able to find out who owned the property and dogs; Jason L. Holiday, 41, of Hollow Rock. After speaking with Jason, he stated that someone had dropped them off in Clarksburg one day and he took them in trying to care for them. He rents a home right now and can’t have them there so that’s why they are left out in the kennel. He advised he goes and feeds them every other day. Deputy Furr let him know he must do better and take better care of the dogs. This issue is still under investigation at this time.
