Gerald then came around the driver’s door and grabbed her out of the car forcefully causing her to land on the ground, striking her face. DUI and Simple Possession — According to a report made on December 14 by Deputy Daniel Thomas, he observed a vehicle stopped on East Main St. and Second Avenue even though there was no stop sign there. He followed the car and noticed the vehicle failed to maintain lane. He initiated a traffic stop, and when he approached the driver’s side, he could smell an odor coming from the vehicle which was a deodorizer spray commonly used to mask the stench of weed or alcohol. The driver was heavy-eyed and holding a cup of coffee and claimed to be tired. The driver, Chrissy Lee Simpson, of Union City, was questioned and given sobriety tests on which she performed poorly. Upon searching through the vehicle, deputies found a grinder with a green leafy substance in it, a scale, and rolling tray with green residue on it. Chrissy claimed she didn’t have any drugs on her; but when she got to jail before the body scanner, she gave up a bag out of her bra with about 12 grams of weed. She was arrested for DUI and Simple Possession.
