Simple Assault Domestic — On March 21, Deputy Avalon received a call in reference to a domestic and aggravated assault. Derek Scott Baker, 43, of Trezevant, is accused of verbally assaulting and threatening family members with a handgun.

Possession of Sch. VI — On March 22, Deputy Alex Sherwood performed a traffic stop on a vehicle in McKenzie after smelling a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver, and only occupant Donavan Teague, 23, of Paris, had a marijuana blunt in his ashtray still burning and had about an ounce of marijuana in his backpack. He was issued a citation for Simple Possession with a booking date of March 31st.

Driving on Revoked License — On March 22, Corp. Jeremy Smith stopped Davyontae Vaughn, 21, of Trenton for a license plate violation. After a driver’s license check it was discovered that his license was suspended. He was cited into General Sessions Court.

Domestic Assault — On March 23, Cameron Hernandez, 23, of Paris, was arrested for Domestic Abuse to an ex-girlfriend. He was picked up at his house in Paris and was transported to Carroll County Jail.

DUI — On March 25, Deputy Alex Sherwood made contact with a vehicle stopped in the gravel area of Hwy. 77 and Hwy. 79 in Atwood. The driver, Mia Rhyne, 32, of Trezevant, appeared intoxicated. Rhyne advised that she had consumed a couple of drinks but later recanted that statement. After a search, a bottle of liquor was found open and half empty and a loaded 9mm handgun was found in the glove box. She was transported to Carroll County Jail.

Drug Violation — On March 25, Deputy Alex Sherwood performed a traffic stop on a vehicle failing to maintain lane and having illegal window tint on Tate School Road off Highway 70, Huntingdon. The driver, Joe Harmon III, 37, of Cedar grove, gave consent for the vehicle to be searched. A small bag of meth, marijuana, two meth pipes, a plastic straw, and synthetic urine were all found. He was transported to Carroll County Jail.
