Drugs into Penal Institution — According to a report made by Deputy Alex Sherwood, on April 13, he conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to maintain lane. The driver, Jeremy Coleman, 34, of Atwood, had a metal tray containing a small amount of meth and a bag of .5 grams located on the ground next to the driver’s door. He was arrested and taken to Carroll County Jail where correction officer Shane Kollaszan found .6 grams of meth on Coleman.

Simple Assault — According to a report made by Deputy Heather Townes, on April 12, deputies responded to a home on Briar Creek Road regarding an assault that had taken place between Robert Johnson and Robert Doede. The victim, Robert Doede, stated that an issue between the two has been going on for years. He stated that Johnson comes outside and yells at him and threatens him often. In this incident the victim stated Johnson came up to him and punched him multiple times. Robert Johnson, 65, of Huntingdon, said he did hit him, but he was antagonized to do so.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia — According to a report made by Deputy Alex Sherwood, on April 12, he conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle because the driver Frank McCord had a suspended driving license. He immediately detected marijuana and saw a “roach” in the ash tray in plain view. The passenger Elizabeth McCord, 55, of Atwood, handed over two rolled marijuana cigarettes weighing 2 grams, 2 small baggies weighing about 6 grams, and a used glass meth pipe in her pocket. Frank was placed under arrest for an active warrant out of Milan, and Elizabeth was placed under arrest for drug paraphernalia.

Aggravated Assault — According to a report made by Deputy Parker Graham, on April 16, Epiphany Jewel Taylor, 25, of Milan, committed the offense of aggravated assault by repeatedly striking a victim in the head with handcuffs. This violent incident took place while both individuals were in the lock up cell at the courthouse, vicinity reported hearing commotion, and this prompted immediate intervention.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia — According to a report made by Deputy Daniel Thomas, on April 11, he suspected criminal activity and attempted to stop an Escalade, but it fled and finally crashed. The driver exited the vehicle and ran away. The passenger, Megan Smith, 36, of Humboldt, was captured. In the vehicle 4.3 grams of a white crystal substance was found along with a cigarillo pack containing marijuana. The driver, Matthew Miller, 24, of Atwood, is wanted for evading felony, driving on suspended license, and reckless driving.
