From the May 14, 2024 e-EditionCriminal Trespass — Gavin Clay Rosson, 25, homeless, was charged with Trespassing at the Country Store on Hwy 70. Deputy Bongiovanni arrived at the country store and spoke to the manager of the store who stated that Rosson had entered the store shirtless, wearing black shorts, and sandals. The deputy then observed video surveillance showing Rosson in the store in the same clothing described by the store manager. Rosson had left the store before Deputy Bongiovanni arrived. The deputy waited for approximately 30 minutes across the street when Rosson showed back up at the store and got arrested for criminal trespass.
Drug/Narcotic Violations — Morgan Napier, 18, of Jackson, was in a motor vehicle accident on May 8 on Highway 70. Morgan Napier, who was driving the vehicle, was the only occupant in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Deputy Smith could smell the odor of marijuana. The defendant admitted to having marijuana in a backpack. After a search there was 21.9 grams of marijuana, 4 smoking pipes, 2 grinders, and 1 tray containing marijuana. The defendant was transported to Jackson hospital for his injuries.
Possession of Sch. II, VI — Kendell Campbell, 33, of Berkeley, Illinois, was arrested on May 7 for being in Possession of Drugs. Units were dispatched to Bethel Church Road for a 911 call, the caller advised he didn’t know what was going on, but he needed help. Huntingdon Police Department was there earlier for a 911 hang up and suspected the caller was intoxicated. Huntingdon Police Department arrived first and spoke to the caller, Campbell, and agreed he needed to go somewhere else for the night. Before he got in the patrol car, he was asked if he had anything in his pockets, which he then pulled out marijuana. He was not charged at this time pending the outcome of the situation. Huntingdon Police Department officers took him to a residence on Bridgeman Street, Huntingdon, where he soon caused a domestic disturbance and was brought to the jail on separate charges and then Campbell was charged for possession. During evidence processing, there was a pressed pill, that tested as meth and marijuana were found in the baggie.
