From the Jun 18, 2024 e-EditionDriving Under the Influence — Michael Dennis Slusher, 55, of Huntingdon, was arrested on June 8 when deputies were dispatched to a wreck on Highway 219. Upon arrival, Deputy Bongiovanni observed a 2009 Chevy Suburban wrecked into an unoccupied cargo van parked on a property in Huntingdon. The Suburban appeared to have major damage. No occupants were located at the scene of the wreck. While processing the scene, a civilian said there were two people about a mile down the road walking. The deputies stopped the two walking down the road and they were Michael Slusher and Amy Grimes. Both individuals admitted to being in the vehicle that had wrecked. Michael Slusher admitted to driving. Slusher had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath/body and slurred speech. Slusher did admit to drinking 5-6 beers. Slusher failed the sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence.
